In a recent case with national implications, BJ successfully defeated claims brought by a major New York municipality against a lender seeking to hold the lender liable for the cost of repairing abandoned homes and remediating urban blight. BJ also successfully resolved a case against a mortgage servicer accused of improperly disposing of the mortgagor’s personal property.

Currently, BJ is representing a multi-national bank in connection with an action challenging lender loan practices that could have far reaching ramifications and application to countless other loans and litigated matters. BJ is also working with ZEK’s lender clients to successfully defend challenges to the lenders’ standing to bring foreclosure actions on defaulted residential mortgage loans.
