Steven S. Rand has been a partner at
ZEK and its predecessor firm since 1985. Steve specializes
in commercial litigation in such diverse fields as creditor's
rights, complex real estate matters (including commercial
foreclosures and title disputes), banking law, (including
matters arising under Uniform Commercial Code Articles 3 and
4, and credit losses resulting from fraud or operating errors),
as well as insurance and reinsurance matters.
Steve has appeared on behalf of many of the largest corporate
and financial institutions in the country and has acted as
lead counsel for ZEK in connection with on-going, and thus
far, highly successful efforts to recover multi-million dollar
obligations due to the former Bank of Credit and Commerce,
S.A. in the tri-state area, both on behalf of the Superintendent
of Banks of the State of New York and on behalf of the Trustee
appointed by the United States Department of Justice.
Steve is currently lead counsel
in defense of a lender liability action brought by a Florida
developer, seeking damages in excess of $160 million, against
a large commercial lender. |
