Mark Zeichner
is a founding partner of ZEK's predecessor firm. He serves
today as ZEK's managing partner, a position he has held since
its founding. Mark's practice focuses on financial institutions
and he actively litigates on their behalf.
Mark graduated Syracuse University College of Law School,
cum laude, in 1974, after earning his AB undergraduate degree
at Hamilton College. In law school, Mark wrote for the law
review, served on its Editorial Board as Lead Articles Editor
and was elected to the Justinian Honor Society and Order of
the Coif. Upon graduating from law school, Mark joined the
bank litigation department of Shearman & Sterling.
He was most grateful when many of the clients he represented
at Shearman & Sterling decided to become clients of the Firm
as well. Mark and his partners' philosophy of providing clients
with the same expertise and dedication as the major institutional
law firms at relatively reasonable rates, has led to some
of the worlds' most sophisticated clients making use of ZEK's
services.
Mark has developed expertise in the intricacies of the Uniform
Commercial Code, and the various laws relating to finance.
This experience has enabled ZEK to serve as "backstop" to
in-house corporate counsel in their financial, banking and
commercial activities. He has also devised, along with in-house
counsel for certain corporate clients, innovative programs
to reduce the cost of handling legal matters while maintaining
the highest of quality.
Mark has handled litigation implicating institutional fraud,
the Uniform Commercial Code, real estate, letters of credit,
debtor/creditor issues and other commercial matters. While
he enjoys the process of all phases of litigation, he enjoys
most the fixing of a legal strategy in each matter aimed at
achieving results for a client through abbreviated proceedings.
Mark spends his out of court and office hours at his children's
sporting events and as a dedicated, repeat volunteer at his
local house of worship. He also enjoys watch and clock collecting;
some of his collection is on display at the ZEK's offices. |
